Istanbul Medeniyet University Psychology Application and Research Center is a unit that provides psychological counseling and psychotherapy services. Our experienced staff provides individual, couple and group therapy services. Please write to isil.bilican@medeniyet.edu.tr for information.
The targets of the unit are as follows:
- To provide preventive psychotherapeutic interventions that will enable individuals to improve and maintain their health by improving their quality of life;
- To perform psychotherapeutic interventions that will help individuals regain their health by facilitating their adaptation to adverse living conditions;
- To provide psychotherapy services for the diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders in cooperation with psychiatry and other specialties of medicine (internal diseases, physical therapy and rehabilitation, etc.);
- To provide psycho-education and consultancy services to individuals and institutions in different fields of clinical psychology; To organize various scientific meetings and training programs such as national and international seminars, conferences, congresses, symposiums and courses on psychology and social responsibility;
- To design and conduct individual, group and community-based screening and intervention programs to support early diagnosis, treatment, education services and research activities for psychological disorders;
- To cooperate with different research and education of public and/or private institutions, especially in national and international universities, in line with the targets and duties of the Center;
- To investigate the cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neuropsychological and developmental basis of psychological disorders; make evaluations; to carry out research activities to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities;
- To organize and participate in national and international seminars, congresses, conferences and similar meetings so that the Center can advance its work in the light of the current implications of the science of psychology;
- To publish reports, bulletins, projects, books, articles, journals and similar publications in order to bring the scientific findings obtained from the research activities carried out within the center to the clinical psychology literature;
- To organize workshops in order to creat funds and projects
- To create suitable infrastructure and service environments for national or international exchange of faculty, students or assistant staff; for guest national or international faculty; student or auxiliary staff activities; and to support these people in educational and/or financial terms;
- To prepare and carry out national and international research and development projects;
- To be a supervised practice center for psychology graduate students;
- To carry out the above-mentioned targets of the Center in the light of the ethical rules and the contemporary scientific implications of psychology;
